Jimmy R. Rivera, CLF®

Managing Partner

Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas Jimmy R. Rivera, learned to be a team-player and leader on the many athletic teams he was a part of throughout his school years. Upon graduation he began his search for a rewarding career in a company with long-term growth potential. He found that career at the New York Life Insurance Company South Texas General Office.

After joining New York Life as an Agent in 2002, he went on to capture all of the Company awards — Life Centurion Award, Life All-Star Award, Career Foundation Award. Jimmy was one of the few agents in the South Texas G.O. to achieve over 100 paid cases in their first contract year. In 2004 Jimmy was recognized as the Rookie of the Year and qualified for two consecutive Executive Councils.

In October 2004, Jimmy was promoted to the partner position at New York Life. In 2009 he qualified as one of the top 10 Partners in the company. In December 2012 Jimmy met all of the Company requirements and was promoted to Managing Partner of the South Texas General Office in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Jimmy enjoys spending time with his wife Gina and their five children.

Agustin (Gus) Pascual

Executive Partner

Agustin “Gus” Pascual, originally from Cuba, relocated with his family to Dubuque Iowa in 1961 and graduated from the University of Dubuque with a B.A. in Secondary Education but almost immediately followed his dream of business ownership. Before joining New York Life in July of 2007, Gus owned and operated Borderland Software Co. and, later, Valley Golf Guide Magazine. He attended the Top Producers Meeting for the West Central Zone in Chicago by invitation having attained a position in the top-10 New Org for the Zone. He currently is a Partner in the McAllen, TX Sales Office where he has led his team to numerous recognitions and awards in management and sales. Gus got promoted as a Senior Partner in March 2015. Gus lives in McAllen with his wife Nancy and two daughters Karitza and Alyssa.

Nora Mares

Partner

Noralba Mares, best know as Nora, was born in West Texas and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. She now resides in Corpus Christi, Texas where her entrepreneurial spirit drove her to be a leader in her community by serving in her local church while helping coach her son soccer teams that eventually led her to open her own business with New York Life Insurance company in October 2012. In this Endeavor, Nora has accomplished prestigious recognitions; Career Life Success Award, Career Life Producer Award, Life Foundation Award, Life Star Individual Life award and qualified for two consecutive Executive Councils. In June 2015 Nora position herself to be promoted to the partner position at New York Life. Her mission in the Partner role is to identify the right person to be a part of her team and give them the opportunity that was once offered to her.

Danielle Goslin

Partner

Danielle Goslin is graduate of Katherine Gibbs Business School, Boston, MA with a B.A. in Business Administration.

With over 20 years of financial industry experience, Danielle joined New York Life Insurance Company in August of 2012 as an agent. At New York Life, Danielle achieved three Executive Councils consecutively as well as Centurion two consecutive years. Danielle has written and paid for 250 cases during her tenure as a New Org agent.

2015 Danielle entered into the Associate Partner program and successfully completed program in the top 2.

Currently as Partner with New York Life Insurance Company, Danielle’s goal and main focus is to recruit and develop the Lower Rio Grande Valley from the Harlingen Satellite Office.

Clarissa Moncivais

Sales Development Manager

Clarissa Moncivais was born and raised in Laredo, Texas and joined the New York Life-South Texas General Office as an agent in 2012. Prior to joining New York Life, she worked in the commercial lending department at a local community bank in Laredo for nearly 7 years. Clarissa is a graduate of Texas A&M International University and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. After servicing her clients in Laredo for 3½ years, Clarissa was promoted to an Associate Sales Development Manager for the South Texas Sales Office in September 2015 and was relocated to Edinburg, Texas. Her primary role is to develop and mentor young agents who have recently transitioned into a career with New York Life.

Michelle Guajardo

Senior Marketing & Recruiting Manager, Latino Market

Building upon her success within the banking industry, in 2007, Michelle joined New York Life as the Rio Grande Valley Marketing Manager at New York Life. With over 20 years of marketing experience, Michelle has been able to identify multiple-specialty market segments, customize marketing plans and reach a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic groups.

Michelle is self-motivated leader with strong communication skills. She excels with building relationships and establishing community outreach connections. Michelle relies on her extensive experience within the banking, sales, and social service management industries to provide valuable insight and advice that is widely sought after.

As a marketing and recruiting manager for New York Life Insurance Company, she is responsible for attracting, hiring and retaining top sales talent to serve the financial needs of the community that she serves.

Michelle also supports our insurance and financial professionals by providing positive, high visibility exposure within the target client communities.

Luis Sanchez

Marketing and Recruiting Manager

Luis was born and raised in Corpus Christi and after graduating from W.B. Ray High School he left to pursue a college education at Texas State University in San Marcos. He finished with a B.A. in Communication Studies and stayed in Central Texas residing in Austin for 12 years. Prior to New York Life he worked as a Sales Manager for a fast growing Inc. 500 high tech firm and then decided to return to his roots and be a part of the booming growth in the Latino Market for New York Life in South Texas. He is an active member in his community participating in the Leadership Corpus Christi program, serving as past President of the Embajadores for the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a board member for the Young Business Professionals of The Coastal Bend. Luis enjoys spending time with his family and fishing in the beautiful waters of the Coastal Bend.

Elizabeth Valadez, FLMI

Administrative Manager

Elizabeth is a Texas native who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She began her New York Life career in September 2011, training in the Fort Worth and Dallas General Offices as an Associate Administrative Manager. During her training, she had the opportunity to travel to the Nebraska, Arkansas, and Saint Louis General Offices on temporary management assignments. Elizabeth joined the Nashville G.O. team as an Administrative Manager in July of 2013. Elizabeth is looking forward to the opportunities that South Texas has to offer as well as being closer to family and friends in the Texas area.

In her free time Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her dog Flora, playing the flute, and playing in local tennis tournaments.
